Accountability

Every man needs a brother who will tell him the truth.

Accountability partnership inside The Herd: real men, real check-ins, real growth. This is not a life coach. This is the man across the table when you can't lie to yourself anymore.

Set the Frame

What This Is, And What It Isn't

Accountability IS

  • A mutual relationship. Both of you show up for each other.
  • Confidential. What's said stays between you.
  • Specific. Real goals, real check-ins, real follow-through.
  • Hard. The point is to be told the truth, not to feel good.
  • Faith-rooted. Scripture is in the room.

Accountability is NOT

  • A life coach. You're not paying anyone. You're not the client.
  • Someone who is superior to you. Or below you. Mutual.
  • A snitch line. Your partner isn't reporting you to anyone.
  • Therapy. If you need a therapist, see a therapist. This is different work.
  • One-sided. If you only show up when you need help, this won't work.

Why It Works

The Numbers Aren't Subtle

3x

Men who meet weekly with an accountability partner are 3x more likely to follow through on personal commitments.

76%

76% of men in long-term cohort + partner relationships report measurable life change.

90 days

Most men in active partnerships start naming real change within the first 90 days.

How Matching Works

Three Steps. No Guesswork.

1

Set Your Focus Areas

Pick what you actually want a brother to walk through with you: faith, mental health, marriage, parenting, health, recovery, finances, or calling.

2

Pick Your Cadence

Choose your check-in frequency. Weekly is the standard. We will match you with someone whose rhythm fits yours.

3

Get Matched

Our matching engine pairs you with a Herd brother whose focus areas, life stage, and availability line up with yours.

The Rhythm

What A Week Looks Like

Keeps the bar low enough that men actually do it. High enough that it actually works.

Monday

Scheduled check-in, 20 to 30 minutes. Voice or video. Wins, losses, what is hard this week.

Mid-week

Quick text if you are struggling. No essay required. Just a heads-up so your brother knows where you are.

Friday

One-line win and one-line loss. Keep the bar low so the rhythm actually sticks.

The Questions

Weekly Cohort Check-In Questions

Every Cohort check-in walks through the same eight questions. Any man can pass on a question, and every answer ends in prayer and one practical next step.

  1. 1Where did you notice God's grace or help since we last met?
  2. 2What did you read in Scripture, and what obedience did it call for?
  3. 3Where were you tempted to hide, exaggerate, blame, or withdraw?
  4. 4How did you treat your wife, children, coworkers, or closest people?
  5. 5Were you sexually faithful in thought, choices, and behavior?
  6. 6What emotion or pressure has been shaping your decisions?
  7. 7Did you follow through on the commitment you named last time?
  8. 8What specific help, prayer, or action do you need before we meet again?

Stories

From Men In It Right Now

"I had a cohort for a year and still felt alone in the things I would not say out loud. My partner is the first man I have told the full truth to about my marriage. Six months in, we are still standing, and it is because someone is actually in it with me."

Anonymous, 38

"I thought I was the strong one. Turns out being the strong one was a way to never let anyone see me. My partner called that out in week three. I am a better husband, a better father, and a way more honest man because of it."

Marcus, 44

"I almost did not sign up because I did not want to be a project. The thing that surprised me was how much I needed to be the one showing up for someone else. That changed me as much as anything I have been given."
